they are too high in the mix, just kind of defeats all the beautiful things going on in the background. not the biggest fan of kensrue's clean vocals in the first place though so that might explain why i'm not so fond of them

Each to their own, I guess I don't understand how them being slightly high in the mix could 'ruin it so badly' given that they're pretty inoffensive and pleasant-sounding.
They're probably high in the mix as they're the centrepiece of songs like The Whaler, and they sound fucking gorgeous on that.

Nvm spun Fire for the first time in years and it's incredibly tedious and generic. At least water has some creativity

Going through Thrice’s discog for the first time and just got to this today. Holy god is this good. Especially Water but they’re both excellent. I think it’ll continue to grow on me and could become a 5. Might even be better than Vheissu but we shall see after a few more spins.

Yeah that’s definitely one of the standouts here, along with Open Water, Lost Continent, Firebreather and The Messenger.

It's hard to rank the elements because it depends entirely on my mood at the time but I do know that Daedalus is tied for best Thrice song and Earth (IV) is always at the bottom of the four.
Also, the Messenger is totally underrated.

Man I am really loving this. Thrice are blowing me away. Looking forward to going through the rest of their discog. Looks like Beggars and M/M are considered by many to be some of their best work.
