This opened so many doors for me.

thought rym had higher standards
|

RYM is weird because everything is rated lower but they have some really questionable rankings

there's no better way of finding music imo but the users are silly

That site is kinda like walking down a dark alley. Just keep your head down, do your thing, and don't talk to anyone.

and never read any of the reviews

I remember a time when most of people's comments were directed at the discussion of reviews, not musics
That confused me somewhat

usually when i read a review on rym it's some nerd trying to downplay an album's greatness

The 2.0 review on this, well written as it may be, is such a buzzkill.

Doesn't take away from the goodness of this album

As soon as a thread page hits page 2 that's probably the last time I ever look at the review tbh

Source is right. I don't think I've ever seen a RYM review for a non-Internet-circlejerk-type album that was above a 3.5

I hate RYM, may have better categories and lists but half the users on that site don't have a goddamn clue about music and practically every album has the same collective rating too. I remember one guy said Gaza was deathcore.

For RYM I add 0.4 to the ratings and it often equates to Sputs ratings. As for Sput, I add 0.4 (so 0.8 on RYM), move the decimal and multiply by 2. Ex: OK Computer on Sput has 4.6 and is one of highest rated, 4.6+0.4=5 -> 50(2)=100%
