'Simon Williams of NME described Paranoid Android as being "not unlike 'Bohemian Rhapsody' being played backwards by a bunch of Vietnam vets high on Kings Cross-quality crack".'

What are your guys thoughts on Electroneering? Excellent track, but for me is the only moment here that pales compared to everything else.

Yeah it's rockin and facetious, just doesn't have the same depth. Whether intended or not it feels a bit careless and can break my immersion.

Almost sucks.

Yeah, Electioneering is solid, but it’s definitely the worst song on here.

Worst thing here agreed.

I honestly like Fitter Happier more.

A lower-tier song but for sure an easy 4 regardless.

I wonder if the nagging doubt in their experimental progression resulted in having a mandatory catchy rock track

Yeah I really do wonder what the thinking was behind it. Feels more like a Bends leftover, or a b side. I’m sure it was calculated. Pretty sure Radiohead know what they’re doing with this music stuff.

Electioneering rules. It's not one of my favorites here or anything but it's not my least favorite either

Electioneering is a welcome change of pace on the record, when I listened to the full thing on a drive back from New Orleans the other night I was so, so happy to hear it. Not the kinda track I normally seeked out outside of actual album listening but man I love it when it does come on

I also liked "The Tourist" on that last listen more than I ever have before
Got a kinda "Drive You Home" by The Verve thing going on in the intro or something. Beautiful song

Yeah it is very good tune and a good time to have something more upbeat, I just think the song stands out as a more reserved artistic choice in the face of near perfection

i don't think it's fair to call their desire to rock out like the old days or whatev just once a reserved artistic choice, I think they realized the album was getting just a little too dour/serious and wanted to shake things up again. It's part of what made their albums so good for like 2 decades

Subterranean is the underrated track here, for sure.
