Tool only cares about money. This kind of compressed production was approved by them because they know it sounds the best for Spotify normies.

Idk yet tbh, but I think I'll hold that on digs just for brand. It appears to be having some success. Maybe a great alt name even.

I could do without Culling Voices, and a ten to twenty percent pick up in tempo would be cool. They go too slow in a few places here, which end up being too long. Coulda been a killer hour-ish album here.

Okey, so, Invincible is the peak of American music. The second best American music was made by Antonin Dvorak back in 19th century.

For me this album is good, but it's missing that special "magic" which made Lateralus and 10,000 Days such outstanding albums. It's hard to describe what exactly is missing in Fear Inoculum, because it has all the typical Tool ingredients. But I somehow get the feeling that this is Tool trying to replicate what people expect Tool to sound like. Kind of a "rehashed" version of what they have done before - and better.

IMO, most tracks on this album start with a promising build-up, but then don't really go anywhere.

Dunno, hmm, maybe your taste?

"I somehow get the feeling that this is Tool trying to replicate what people expect Tool to sound like."

Yeah, one of the greatest bands in history of music read comments on the internet and took advice from their fanbase, of which most of them are not even musicians, because why not.

"most tracks on this album start with a promising build-up, but then don't really go anywhere."

It's exactly the opposite, most songs here start without showing any promising feats and evolve into post-metal masterpieces with a minimalistic meditative element that no other band can create at so many RPM and sheer loudness.

What a terrible take. I can get some people criticisms for this album but the hate on the production is just pointless.

Hippie love circle eww gorss
The production on this is not great tbh. I remember not loving the mix, but it's definitely low down on the list of this album's inadequacies
