It’s on par, but it’s missing the intensity of either. WP and DE both have teeth. This matches their songwriting but leaves a lot to be desired in the batshit-insane dept. there’s nothing like Royal or Korea here

I liked this quite a bit immediately but has grown on me immensely regardless. More like a 4 first listen or two, now at a solid 4.5. I don’t see ever rating this at quite a 5 though.

milk of the madonna is the best song on here
Yeah I think milk, metal dream and infinite source are the trifecta. Honestly I’d probably rank I think about you all the time just as high now. That song grew on me so fucking much, I thought it was just pretty good at first, now I think it’s a masterpiece. Arguably their best “ballad”, along with maybe Entombed.

Honestly I don’t agree with this take. However I see it being a softer version of You Without End” from Deafheaven’s Ordinary Corrupt Human Love. And seeing Fandingbat call that one of the best of this album while calling You Without End absolutely awful was kinda funny because both songs sound very similar especially in terms of movement.
You Without End was such a gem from that album
