half the point of the diss is kendrick slanting drake for overcompensating for being manufactured and culturally inauthentic, so slamming him for using the n word has obvious footing within his argument regardless of how far you agree with it
besides which are you really gonna miss the irony of high horsing what people with ethnic ties to the etymology of the word think is appropriate usage when you have zero claim on the word in question and are shooting from a position of nobody-asked
the concert situation was rough because kendrick dragged a helpless + well-meaning fan in front of a terrifyingly huge crowd (who'd been singing along just fine with her up until the moment), not because of the politics of checking her on language. not remotely comparable to the diss track

Yeah, massive difference between the concert situation -which is a situation that I think everyone wish didn't happen because it was cringe and tone deaf for so many reasons and for both parties- and Kendrick holding up the weight of that word against Drake, a person who has publicly played chameleon for a large part of his career and clearly is self-conscious about it

Kendrick isn’t the language police

there’s ways to criticize someone of appropriating culture without telling them they can’t say a word that goes way way further back than hip hop culture

well, look who's gatekeeping now

waiting patiently on nol's top 10 pointers for black artists to police their own culture (and when crossing over to modern day hip hop arguments means it's a step too far actually)
and am 100% sure i'm not alone

I think it's pretty easy to criticize how lazy the forbidden word diss is without looking like one of the many memes on twitter rn of white kids at a computer gatekeeping who gets to say it. kendrick took two weeks to drop a track wherein the lion's share of shots, including the central beef, are addressed within the first ten seconds of Taylor Made.

would have been cool if kendrick had taken those two weeks to come up with a something a little more creative and enjoyable to listen to. something like Eminem's "bully" would have been great. that is, something with substance but is also repayable and not 6 minutes plus of meandering. though considering one of ken's main criticisms is being stuck in creative neutral now for nearly a decade I guess we shouldnt be surprised that the end result of this scathing diss off are his supporters furiously defending him with phrases like "it's not that deep bro" or "this isnt even 30% of kdot's power" and my fav "he actually meant that typo".

I don’t know if timeliness is indicative of confidence though, dude really said “I have other shit going on in my life, sorry you can’t relate” in the song

I’m just gonna let you take over you have a better way with words

yes as evidenced by the quality of his last two lps it seems like kendrick has much better things to do than rap.

Definitely is past his golden era IMO but I think shit like this lights a fire up under him. Idk if Eminem is the best example of “what to do in a beef” unless you’re real down with people just getting called slurs outright lmao which I know you aren’t
