In the words of the great Tyman128420, we don't know what "it" is, but we know it's there.

This band rules so much, happy to see they get the love they deserve here. Dying to see them live.

I see Sputnikmusic making a city in its name, I see the nations bowing before mx who’s covered in purple robes.

Gotta shout out YT recommendations for introducing me to these guys. Clicked on the Echo and Dust Pt.I thumbnail coz it looked interesting and the song blew my mind straight away. Epic band

Roughly a year after my first spin, I’m now of the opinion that this is far more consistent from beginning to end than Empty Black. Idk I held off on saying anything definitive about how the two compared for a long time, but nah I think this is an improvement in just about every single area. Song writing (vocals, guitar, and impeccable transitions specifically), those performances, and an overall more more “unique” sound as a band in general. Excited to see how they continue to grow with their new album

Both insanely good albums but is it just me or is the mixing kinda off for both?

If I was gonna provide a potential critique for this album it would be that sometimes the mix doesn’t have that low-end punch I’d expect. EB def has that fat grunge’ish sounding mix and I think it’s pretty great imo, but definitely unique

I say “potential critique” cuz I occasionally have that thought right when I start the album, but after 10 seconds I’m I think it works well lmao

But idk I always focus on guitar and vocals in music, so I don’t really have much of an opinion on the drums and bass production for either album

Mixing has to be pre bad for me to find it detrimental to the album and I don't recall ever thinking anything was off here

And yeah, I feel like the focus with this band is the guitar and vox. I never really paid too much attention to drums/bass, I suppose, but perhaps I shall change that
