I just wish this flowed better man. There’s no stretches like towards dawn -> hollow hour or opalescent -> crystal cascades that just feels totally perfectly cohesive. The songs themselves are good, even if they’ve leaned more into the uk pop metalcore side of things. I just miss that level of “holy shit” from their last LPs here

How the hell does this lean into uk pop mxc, idk what you meant by this botb? I’m sure you have a different perspective, but it seems potentially misleading to me. This goes for a more post-metal/core bent for me, if anything the production and shroud of dissonance / less immediacy is more keenly displayed here vs TWD. So I’d argue it’s the complete opposite.
I also think this flows incredibly well, opinions may vary
I’ll listen for that TAOM shade next time, interesting

Been calling this my 4th favorite thing this year based mostly on my memory of the 2-3 listens I gave it the month it dropped and tbh revisiting it now #4 might actually be too low
Cannot even imagine the sheer mayhem of Mutual Ruin or Drip in a live setting
