"syd barrett pink floyd was psychedelic rock for sure but if you're gonna say animals is a psych rock album and not a prog rock album then you're crazy"

I've got to do a deep dive in to Floyd, maybe when I'm finished with King Crimson. However, my point is: things are complicated. Also Haken are pretty meh, but prog music is nice.

Mastodon do be prog, for me.

Have we concluded that Pika's fave bands are all prog yet? I took myself out of the action as I trusted you guys could take care of things on my behalf.

"an elephant in the room is that shoegaze lives or dies by guitar distortion effects and this album is a bit too clean, it has a totally ill-suited production for this kind of music".

Summed up why this didn't really work for me. The kind of shoegaze I like has this hazy guitar sound that just isn't here. I guess they wanted it that way, though.
