Nah Code were better, their visual production was unmatched, but Loathe for sure gave them a run for their money. The two bands had a pretty even amount of people in the audience in Boston, but considering the amount of people on the site that like this but don’t like Code, I guess that makes sense. I don’t agree but I can see.

Edit: apparently this has more votes on RYM than Underneath

These guys are gonna be huge

I've seen footage of Code Orange live and they do bring it, but I just can't get on board with their studio albums. Absolutely could not stand Forever so that really turned me off on them.

Hell I didn't even like this band at first either, and I'm still iffy on their heavy stuff. Wouldn't be mad if they fully leaned into the gazetonescore sound

YOOOOOO

Out of nowhere, Loathe just got added to a July 20 show I'm seeing with Northlane and Silent Planet. The fuck? I would pay to see Loathe headline but resigned to never seeing them live because they always ignore Canada/western Canada. Soooo pumped.

How are these dudes live?

Yeah they were an unannounced band on the tour but the censorship of their name was done poorly so Reddit figured it out immediately

Nomos, I just saw them live with Code Orange. Prepare yourself. They are INSANE live. Get those lyrics memorized and throw the fuck down.

Hope you enjoy! I'm excited for you.

FUCK YEAH DUDE I know most of their stuff by heart so I'm VERY stoked for this one haha. Late 2019 I discovered Loathe and immersed myself with like...months of listening to nothing else, on repeat, it just resonated so hard with me. ILIIAITE and The Cold Sun.

shaking n crying n throwing up rn tbh

I saw them supporting Bury Tomorrow at a small gig in Exeter back in 2017. For someone to be moaning that a little metal band from Liverpool are 'ignoring' Canada in their tours, that's pretty awesome. They've clearly blown up since that gig!

haha dude I'm not "moaning" about them, I'm ticked about the tour organizers having them come to Canada and then only hitting 2 boring big cities every time (Vancouver, Toronto) until now and relieved they're finally hitting Edmonton and Calgary and Winnipeg and not just dipping south to the US like so many coward-tours do between both coasts (Toronto date, go south, hit all the flyover US states, come back up for air in Vancouver, fly back home)

Though lately the tour organizers finally got their heads out of their asses and realized central/western Canadians are bonkers for metal and buy merch and fill venues.

I feel ya man, I live in a tour desert as well. Just sounded like you were ragging on the band specifically which I thought was amusing!

Second U.S. non-headliner tour announcement in a calendar year. Loathe has been upstaging Code Orange all tour with their fans' responses and Silent Planet and Northlane are about to get the same treatment. Cannot wait to see these guys get the respect they deserve.

though I guess I can't complain too much about Alberta being a tour-desert and we do get bigger (relative to death metal) acts regularly, but bands of Loathe's popularity understandably hit the biggest cities when they can tour and skip us over, so this is fucking nuts. Def wasn't shitting on the band just venting about typical tour routes haha

Yeah honestly I am expecting them to upstage Silent Planet and Northlane. I like those two but god Loathe is just on a different level for me.
