Damn, these new tracks are stellar. So far, this seems to be worth the wait. I read that it’s heavily inspired by the Paul Schrader-Ethan Hawke movie, First Reformed — a very good and underrated.

Man with Hands… is the highlight of the trio imo. Tech is advancing at an almost frightening rate these days and the human disconnect it’s spawning is alarming to say the least. This seems to be touching on that a bit, to put it mildly.

Hyped! Never seen these guys live but I’ll definitely be checking them out on this ensuing tour.

But yes, if I have to come back with a negative here, the album cover art looks very cheap and shoddily done. But meh. The music is what matters.

new singles are very wonderful, better than this already imo. While I enjoy this a fair bit, I have never been aching to revisit it in the way I do Wildlife.

this sounds more jesus lizard influenced than anything they've ever done, particularly autofiction detail

this one's always been my least fave (still love it, as you can see by the rating) but wow, the direction for the new ones is just so exciting. way more hype about these than any pre-release song they've put out since Stay Happy There tbh

Autofiction Detail is like if Jesus Lizard and mwY had a love child. A very pissed off love child. Also that melodic bit towards the middle of I Shaved My Head is *chefs kiss*

Absolutely loving what we've heard so far. Preordered tf out of that vinyl, which I hardly ever do anymore.

I'll be waving the hype flag right with you brother. This album is gonna be earth shattering, I can feel it in my bones.

Legit can't stop listening to these new tracks.

"But yes, if I have to come back with a negative here, the album cover art looks very cheap and shoddily done. But meh. The music is what matters."

I'm not thrilled with it either, though I do like a lot of the creative output from Adam Vass (La Dispute's bassist/go-to art director) even from around the time leading up to this. Check out some of the other collages on merch and tour fliers: the yellow EU/UK July 2025 announcement art feels a lot less muddy. My favorite is either the Rooms Of The House merch/posters by (at) fieldsparrowstudio - who is from Grand Rapids as well, or the girl reading a book with a cat shirt from the 10 year drop of that album too (not sure who illustrated that one, apologies, always like to credit artists).

A lot of their recent press photography is by gingerdope (Martin), who is incredible, and actually did Casey's last cover (in partnership with UK designers Studio Hicks). I mention Martin because they do gorgeous color grading - reminds me of the best from Christopher McKenney (known for working with PUP, IDYLLS etc.) and would've worked super well for album art.

tldr - I'm indifferent but think it'll somehow fit the album perfectly based off these 3 initital songs, which all rule and have me hyped!
