This album is literally what rock musicians have been failing to do when they go pop. Most successful attempt to combine pop with modern rock by a landslide

I'd say it sneaks in even a few more influences than that, and overall is a surprisingly well-executed attempt at distilling a lot of the best elements of quite a few popular genres.

It's clearly meant to be a metric fuckton of fun live on tour, and I'm sure their newfound stadium-filling fanbase will appreciate it.

A little bit of an ignorant statement. I don’t think bmth get the credit they deserve. I wasn’t massive on that’s the spirit, but I can appreciate the fact these guys have always been a step ahead of everyone else. Hell, most metal bands are still trying to replicate a sound they did 4 years ago.



As long as their future works doing lean entirely on a song like mother tongue, it’s looking good for them.
