Shade does not fall on Still Life, rather, it falls onto what Opeth have been reduced to in their last three albums, namely a good-to-average prog rock band at best.

Well that’s ok then, because I don’t entirely disagree (although Heritage is actually quite good). I didn’t understand the Still Life ref, is it just because they moved further away from DM & upped the prog? It’s still a long way from being like new-peth.

I love Still Life (4.5 rating), but in My Arms, Your Hearse Opeth were prog, without being traditional/pretentious prog.



For example, there are bands like Malady (FIN), whose material is infinitely better than anything in the last three Opeth albums.
