I just listened to this again since it came out. These guys have always been a bit head and shoulders a above their peers but this album really does pull everything they do well into a single album.

Those are them dern kids that swing their limbs every which way isn't it? And have fun xing, tell us how it went afterward.

This is like Botch-lite if anything, none of the riffs grab me.[2]
|
| |
i am a sucker for like anything josh scogin though
"Seeing these boys and 68 in about an hour. Ooohh yessssss"
jealous. '68 are nuts live
|
| |
If it's as good as when I saw them a few weeks ago, it'll be awesome. They're playing OGTA in full, I'm actually wearing the shirt I got at the show right now.
|
| |
What they need to do is play some songs from Throwing Myself live, but i don't see that ever happening in a million years
|
| |
And yea, they haven't sounded like Botch since 2005, and even then people blow it out of proportion.

'68 were surprisingly fantastic despite usually being kinda shit live but brilliant on record. Scogin actually apologized saying the last show they played in my state was one of the worst shows he's ever played so I secretly think he put his all into the songs to make up for it.
Norma slated as expected. O'God sounds so much better in a live setting, especially with Corys better and evolved style. Fucking slam dancers though, I had no idea those assholes still existed and they borderline ruined the show for my friend. I dealt with it though. As expected, they played Memphis with Josh and I came buckets. They also ended Memphis with the sludgy part of the closing track to this record, which I thought was brilliant. All in all, excellent show
|
| |
That's awesome, it was the same when I saw them except for ending with that sludgy part, they just played that whole song and then encored with Memphis. Did they open with the hidden track?
The dancers almost ruined the show for me too, I can't stand them.

only norma album i've listened to is bless the martyr

this is better in most ways
|
| |
Yea this is more technical, less breakdowns and more time changes. Bless the Martyr is a different beast though, I love the atmosphere on that album and two of the tracks sound like Frodus.

I've listened to this, OGTA and Redeemer. This is my favorite.

Oh wait I though this was the OGTA thread, never mind.

I think the same conversation is going on in both albums, basically haha
