I think Bergtatt or any of the first two Dissection albums would be good to start with, the first two Dissection albums were two of the first real BM records I ever got into at least.

I know it's an entirely different sound. Enslaved, Mayhem, Burzum, Immortal, Darkthrone, Emperor, and early Ulver were actually some things I used to listen to all the time back when I listened to a lot of black metal. Yeah, I know, still entry-level stuff, but better than it could have been. I meant exploring the black metal sound that experiments with post-rock.

Well most of the "entry-level" are bm classics so it doesn't even matter. But yeah if you meant the bm mixed with post-rock then you're definitely on the right track.

ugh why do people ask you for advice

bm listening is simple:

1. if you want to have fun and play it safe and share music with your friends who all listen to creed and jars of clay, you play this record

2. if you want real shit and dont have any friends and dont want any either and know youre the best, you listen to ildjarn,, like me

I love this but I think I couldn't sit through a classic black metal album. I can listen to any kind of abrasive hardcore, ceremony, all that. Metal just turns me off for some reason. And the band names weird me out.

Like Hacksaw to the Throat, which kinda sounds like a deathcore or bdm name, but it's surprisingly

great stuff lol

Finally giving this the attention that it deserves. Fantastic release, even if it's not breaking any new ground.

I love this more each time I listen to it. I know it isn't groundbreaking, but it's a culmination of every sound I enjoy.
