Big Sky's not amazing yeah. Neither is Mother Stands For Comfort. Hill > Hounds > Cloudbusting is a pretty crazy trio though

Mother Stands for Comfort is brilliant both musically and conceptually
Just that haunting theremin type sound after she says “hides the madman” alone is like

the songwriting on Mother is a bit placid, I'd be surprised if it's not commonly viewed as one of the weakest

Weakest on here is prob And Dream of Sheep and even then it’s a great stage setter for the themes of The Ninth Wave suite
Album is basically perfect

The Morning Fog is my favorite just because its sentimentality and gratitude for live wraps The Ninth Wave’s nightmare about drowning up so perfectly and also that tone on the melody is maybe one of the prettiest things I’ve ever heard
Kate Bush is so good you guys

"Mother is weakest on the front half, but still an excellent song"
new kate bush page new bad flagash take whatup
ngl would probably bump my rating if the Morning Fog didn't exist and this ended with the ever-underrated Hello Earth
and jayzuz feckin crust, half the joy of this album is the way it catches crass 80s prod at its biggest, take that halfarsed technology gripe and use it to crutch up another bad take on another album
