hope new agalloch is better than marrow was.

To be honest, Marrow is a great record. But comparing it to the first 3 master-crafts, it's not up to par. [2]

Listening to this album for the first time and damn its good

friend of mine gave me the whole discog last night, everything I've heard so far makes me feel like I'm surrounded by the Scandinavian wilderness (in the most epic way possible)

I revisited this album thanks to your insistence, and I'm very, very glad I did. The rating is going up.

You should listen to Pale Folklore or Ashes, those are the 2 best to start with.

This is probably their least accessible actually, takes a few listens to get and appreciate everything. PF and Ashes are usually instant.

Which is their least BM and incorporates the most ambience would you say?

This is definitely the least BM of the full lengths (it's got a lot more neofolk/acoustic than the

others), but if you want to include EPs, then The White is perfect for that. But in order of most BM

to least BM I'd probably rank the full-lengths Marrow > Pale Folklore > Ashes > The Mantle. All 4 are

incredibly atmospheric though, so there's that.

I still can't believe this and Ashes both lost out in the first round of that Sputnik Metal tournament thing lol

I need to spin this again when I am out of my no-metal phase. Breathtaking album.
