You have no idea how much i love this album. It's a huge improvement over Empire, and even that was pretty sick. They definitely did something good here.
Literally every aspect of this album is good:
Vox: perfect mix of clean & screams. The growls are still sikk as always, but their range has grown. AND! FUCKIN PROPS FOR NO AUTOTUNE! that shit is fuckin wrong.
Gtar: they already had some nice fretwork, but they mixed it up with some sweet hooks and riffs, and even threw in a couple solos! very rare in this music, especially done right.
Synth: they didn't over synth, which is the key factor. soo many bands overdo it and it sounds like a gameboy having a seizure in the background. They used it nicely, almost sophisticatedly.
in all just a badass album
NO AUTOTUNE?! again, i gotta respect that soo much. too many bands lately have relied on autotune to the point that its sounding like they WANT you to know how FAKE they are.
