For new metal releases, unless it's super trendy/good like Vektor, I can't imagine them getting any more than 400 - 500 votes and even that's pushing it.

They won't, but often those bands DO have a back catalogue (albeit sometimes small) & those albums have significantly less votes.

I think it's also partly because some people tend to neglect this one and especially Considered Dead just because they aren't as technical/"out there" as Obscura and such. I've seen people (not here) call those two "generic" which obv couldn't be further from the truth. Not saying that's the only reason, cuz there's tons of really good dm albums that have way less ratings than they should. Definitely think that plays into it though.

I think it’s only just truly dawned on me how crazy good Condemed to Obscurity is. In some ways this is actually more intense than Obscura, I think it’s the generally higher tempo. It’s still satisfyingly weird enough. Might bump.
