sand football is pretty sweet

but it's basically like rugby, hmm

I never really liked american football, thought it was really stupid how people are acting like "oh that is my team, don't talk shit bout my team"

american football is fundamentally different from rugby in more ways than a lot of people acknowledge. people still get injured all the time and there are tough players who stick it out and play through it too.

obviously if they were playing the same exact game with pads and helmets that would be one thing. but it's not the same game.

@ mena, definitely. it basically all but allows any defender to run full speed directly at the player w/ the ball and just lay into him as hard as he possibly could. the pads and helmet allow the players to basically tackle as hard as they can, they're designed to keep the players from getting injured so they can keep playing.

which is significant, because every single play, the players on both teams start facing each other and are given enough space to run full speed at each other. it's just a different situation than rugby. but yeah there are a lot of players who are just weak and it can be annoying to watch.

I also like watching rugby, just don't get it a lot because the NFL wants all of the money in the universe and has to be everywhere they possibly can at all times

I would easily believe that the avg rubgy player is much tougher than the avg american football player.

I've had this discussion so many times with different people and a lot of people who write american football off because they players wear pads and helmets really don't know much about how the game works.
