The length of this album never bothered me much, actually. I think it's because - at least if you're listening to the standard edition like I do - it's only 7 songs and 6 of them are quite lengthy. So once you've finished one song you've already taken out a good chunk of the record. It's not like a Thank You Scientist album where it's like 12 or 13 songs and practically all of them are 6-8 minutes. That shit becomes a chore

I just felt like for the material in it, it could have effectively been like 2/3 the length and been more effective idk

Sorry man, I can't stand TYS. To me they represent all the worst aspects of modern prog and their music is a total slog to get through

@Divergent I can totally understand that sentiment (and frankly they should just turn it down a notch) but they've just got so much fun and variety that I can't hate them

The title track is a top 5 Tool song, but the anemic guitars and horrible drum sound don't help it. Imagine how that track sounded like if this had a high IQ producer instead of that dumb living abortion called Joe Barresi. Why they collaborated with him after the disastrously production of 10,000 Days only they know.

Johnny have you even seen Tool live? They're so legendary compared to normie bands lol, every concert feels like 98.12.28 Otokotachi no Wakare. I mean, I've seen Opeth perform 1 month before Tool and it felt like they were 3x weaker.
