Is there even a new equivalent? I'm not down with the kiddie lingo these days.

seems like they keep trying to set up Silk Road again and again and again like it was Demonoid or something but the FBI will never stop killing it so pfffffffffft just let it die
however i'm sure if you just get on The Hidden Wiki you'll find some new site to buy drugs or weapons or whatever

To be honest with uni and life in the way I don't keep up with internet goings on any more. Glad to hear it though. Was sad when isohunt died.

You know what i've realized about this album? It relies a lot on the production, rather than the song writing to make it good.
Take Sowing Season for example, if that song had equivalent loudness to say, a song on Nevermind, then the chorus wouldn't be
nearly as impactful. Imo this is because the song isn't impactful due to the quality of the melody and notes that are being played, but
just the loudness.
A lot of this album relies on production and loudness rather then talent and song writing, so it gets stale pretty fast. The production
on this takes "pretty good" songwriting and with sheer impact makes it seem amazing without actually being amazing.

"a lot of this album relies on stellar production rather then talent and song writing"
Disagreed hard, the songwriting here is generally stellar, although I do think the production plays a big role in enhancing it

Started jamming this again, still brings the feelz even years later

I don't know, lets just say this album had the same production as OK Computer. Would it still have a 4.5? (OKC is a very well
produced album but this is on a different level) I absolutely don't think so.

I don't think you understand what production does to a record, going back to Nevermind. If it didn't
have those distorted riffs and clean cut mixing it wouldn't be as good right? Production is how the
artist chooses to deliver the songwriting, not how they decide to master/re-master it.
PS: 2112th comment. Hail Rush.

Production is part of the songwriting process.

Well yeah because production is still an important factor of music, maybe not as important as songwriting itself but if an album with great songwriting had shitty production values, chances are I wouldn't rate it as highly

punk though

Well, yeah, but what i'm saying is that this album stands too much on production, the melody on the Sowing Season chorus isn't that
great, but people ares awed by the flashy production and loudness. It just feels like it doesn't have as much much substance as it
pertains to.

Then that's your opinion I guess, personally I think the songwriting is superb but that's just my opinion

Are you kidding? That melody is soooooo sick! One of my favorite guitar lines on the album.
