It was just before dawn one miserable morning in black 44
When the forward commander was told to sit tight when he asked that his men be withdrawn
And the generals gave thanks, as the other ranks held back the enemy tanks for a while
And the anzio bridgehead was held for the price, of a few hundred ordinary lives

Idk I just constantly get the feeling when listening to this that this is what Roger wished he could do with the wall. The wall is a good album with a lot of filler and goofy tracks for me. Even though they're not thematically identical, they both have a lot to do with his father and this album is way more poignant in the points it tries to make. Ill always love this album.

exactly! Thats why I love this album. The theatricality of the wall doesn't appeal to me. The stories and how they make a human being feel do
