Both Ohms and Gore are great and anyone that thinks otherwise can eat my whole ass

White Pony, self titled and ATF are their peak. Those three in a row too, fucking crazy. Then I’d put diamond eyes, this and koi next. SNW right behind.

i've listened to this thing something like 7-8 times and i still can't quite tell quite a few of these songs apart and where they start/end
literally could not tell you anything about ecdysis and tracks 5-7 except that 'i think' is a slow song

I think I’m settling on my mind is a mountain being my favorite cut on here. Fully leans into my favorite elements of the band’s sound, executes perfectly, and doesn’t overstay its welcome.

I feel like I like it more with every listen. cXz is such a banger and one of my favorites from the record if not my favorite

The more listens, it keeps getting better. The choruses are huge and almost impossible to not sing along to. The album flows very well, and is the culmination of everything the band has done, up to this point. Frank shines here, really molding a lot of these songs together with subtle, yet hard hitting effects.
The 2:00 mark in Cut Hands, sounds like a snake slithering with the effect used. From Milk of the Madonna, Cut Hands, Metal Dreams, and Departing the Body is an insane run.

Really solid release but of the last 20 years probably only better than Gore. Not as many memorable moments as Ohms for me.

Honestly I can barely ever make out what Chino sings, so so much for it being catchy and sing-alongy for me i guess
"i still can't quite tell quite a few of these songs apart and where they start/end"
same here, but I'm liking the vibe so it doesn't matter to me yet
like the KNY - Goreish feeling of the thing, think milk of the madonna is by far the best track here tho and maybe one of the band's stronger tracks ever. so simple yet so nice, cXz is a banger as well.
will definitely need more quality listens to evaluate

Album has grown on me a bit, pretty nice effort from the fellas. Riffs are a snooze though, which is a shame. Steph has effectively checked out. Saw that interview with Chino saying he didn't know why the guy can't travel and is a nervous wreck. Almost like ripping bongs for 40 years straight isn't great for your mental health?
