A sentiment that I've heard often over the past year re: this band has been how weird it is that they blew up so hard so quickly. This has been on my mind since the Kimmel set. I don't think it's really that weird. These guys have kept their noses clean and had a stable lineup with no drama for nearly a decade. They just kept on releasing music regularly and one-upping themselves each time while sticking true to themselves. The crazy mainstream breakthrough they've had is as much a product of hard work and perseverance as much as it is due to sheer luck and networking with the right people. Sometimes hard work just pays off over time. The most shocking thing to me about their massive success recently is that they managed to do it without selling out

Bryan tweeting “Coachella is a hxc festival now” was one of the funniest things I’ve seen on that god forsaken website

Honestly after Underneath I really had my money on CO to blow up the mainstream but I’m not even mad KL ended up being the ones to do it

I'm so glad that band kind of went away, I don't think I could stomach seeing them everywhere

the kimmel performance is insane, probably the largest mainstream stage any metalcore band has performed on
poppy can really belt it

throwback haha. crazy how big metalcore was back then on that wave. now in the mainstream it's dead but hopefully knocked loose is a sign of things to come.

this band is about to get really big as well, seems like the female vocalist era is upon us

Yeah I hate to be *that guy* but this is fucking huge imo. Dillinger, ETID, Killswitch etc… all had big late night performances. Difference is they were playing their most accessible material. Can you really picture Dillinger playing a song like Fix Your Face or ETID playing something like Floater?
Suffocate is heavy as shit and for my money one of the best metal(core? Whatever) songs of the year. This is fucking unprecedented imo

And Poppy rules, I think I like her vocals more than Bryan’s tbh. The harmonies, if you can even call them that, near the end of the song are fucking jaw dropping. Please for the love of god give me a Poppy/Knocked Loose tour

yeah it's cool. just kinda feels like knocked loose is being promoted huge and isn't lifting anyone else in the mainstream like them. not their fault but the tastemakers have decided to push them hard when others are deserving as well. i'd like to be wrong tho!

No I think you’re right. I really hope this is like a renaissance of some kind for metal/hardcore… idk, we’ll see. Still very happy to see this. I’ve said it before but it’s been wild seeing these guys grow without compromising their sound. If anything they’ve only gotten more abrasive as time goes on.
I just really remember seeing them open for ETID like 7 or 8 years ago and there being MAYBE 100 people there, and now they’re the biggest thing in metal. It’s just been such a wild ride and I’m glad to have been able to witness it

But guuuuuys, a random mom said her adolescent son started crying after 3 guitar chugs, clearly they're actually terrible and of the devil!

But fr, KL being on Kimmel is fucking absurd in the best way possible. Never could've predicted that, let alone Bryan hitting a fucking pig squeal
