I really think they are going deep into the concept and building off how last record ended. Hope there is at least one heavy track my guess is it will have an apocalyptic esque closing track

I bet it morphs into popular music, quotes Dowland and Brahms in the closing minute, and ends with a one-line T Swift cameo

Yeah hmmm I'm starting to feel the album coming together. Don't think it will hit the heights they have before, but I am enjoying the singles more. Definitely eager to hear how the whole experience works out.

Ideally they don't release more singles though, I want the rest to be a surprise.

So there is an official video for that song, though its hard to really call it a music video. Either way, here's the link

Hey Mars, there’s an easy solution for that. I’m managing just fine. Nice to hear it might be stacking up though. I am excite.

Haha, true, I can just ignore any other singles. But I get antsy!

Really do hope they dont drop anymore singles with this record. They usually only do 3 anyway. Either way more The Ocean makes me a happy lad. This years releases are coming together for me with NeO's record this month, the ocean next month. Hemidal and downfall of gaia.

NeO is what you'd expect from a new NeO album, nothing less nothing more.

Downfall is gud

I'm not entirely convinced yet, but I do appreciate that they are trying something new. Could see the album being one of those need-to-hear-it-in-full experiences. Sure hope it clicks for me when the whole thing drops, as I ruined my wallet on one of the special boxsets lol.

Agreed, definitely think it needs to totally come together first before we can give a definite verdict on this new direction.

My biggest problem so far is Loic‘s vocal delivery feeling very awkward in certain places (I feel similar about Eocene from this record). The music wasn‘t as exciting but that may change with time and album context.

I've been wondering, do you think Loic is a more naive lyricist than whoever wrote the lyrics for Precambrian? It kinda seems like the lyrics on that album were higher quality than what came later

I don't know if I'd call it naive, but definitely it's much more blunt in comparison. Precambrian-era lyrics could be very abstract and metaphorical.

Exactly, Loic writes lyrics like a 100% logician was trying to sound emotional haha

I sometimes prefer the bluntness tbh, because you can actually get what it is about

But some good nonsense metaphor stuff is always welcome

yeah, I actually think it's a strength of this album...

usually I prefer stuff a little more abstract, or shrouded in metaphorical bullshit, but the more direct approach really lends itself to the 'weightiness' of themes / music here
