If I have one criticism of the album it is that there are a couple of spots that could really do with some classic Maynard intensity (not necessarily screaming, but singing with a bit more force) to really elevate the album to be their Magnus Opus (which is currently Lateralus). The high point of the album for me is around the 6 minute mark in Descending where Maynard is singing the final verse and chorus.

Culling Voices is the only track I think could have used at least one intense Maynard howl, but beyond that the album is a classic. Hard to compare with lat or aenima, just too different but all three albums tell the hero’s journey when played in order. Glad to see more users praising this, it’s a grower.

Dunno why ppl don't put 10k days as high as lat or aenima. Vicarious, the pot, jambi, rosetta stoned and right in two are fucking 10s. wings for marie are 11/10 lol

Yeah Culling Voices is the most obvious place but I also think that Descending would have been a bit better with an intense passage from Maynard in the final climax.
Album is amazing though and this is just nitpicking.

Well Groundking, they sure were all 5s each time they came out...but now I feel Undertow with some fillers, and Aenima pretty plain direct, and only a bit incoherent (as part of a process of achieving Lateralus sound)...all brilliant though.

I sure hope this will grow on me. There's definitely potential. Safe to say it won't ever be a 5 for me, but a strong 4? Maybe one day. At the moment it's like 3.75.

I love lipan conjuring and lost keys hahahahah they are part of rosetta stoned for me. Aenima interludes, except ions-, are great too.
In my list lateralus would be the last. 10kdays > aenima > lateralus
Lateralus has less soul than the others.
I feel FI would be fighting with 10k days for the top spot in some weeks.
