"Using that as a standard for excellence is moronic but then again, that's to be expected from you by this point. "

One of the many, many, MANY standards. But hey, if you actually listened to it and somehow definitively like it more than pretty much anything except The Astonishing you're too far gone for things like reason, logic and good taste.

Ha! As I said earlier. I think it's mediocre and not terrible. Mainly because it has Ytse Jam.

Killing Hand? A Fortune in Lies? Afterlife? Only A Matter of Time?

Dominici sounds like a fusion of Geddy Lee and Goran Edman, which is a surprisingly great combination.

The notez are gay, but he still struggles to hit them.

My main gripe with the album is the keyboards are a bit over the top for my taste. But I can deal with them

Sitar's preference for Ytse Jam is also the most predictable thing in this entire discussion so far.

Holy shit. I forget how epic Afterlife is instrumentally and how horribly ruined it is by Dominici's "singing".

"Granted, I still think Six Degrees is good. Octavarium is decent but not worth revisiting too often. Distance Over Time is merely OK and Train of Thought is absolute tedium with the best track being something that would have been better appreciated on a Liquid Tension Experiment album."

Okay, hold the phone - Train of Thought is in a different league to both this and WDADU

Dominici isn't singing on it, so yeah, pretty predictable.

Not really, since Dominci isn't a bad vocalist.

It also has the crappy riffs that permeate most, if not all, nu metal.

I liked Train of Thought. Not to the point where anything hit me as hard as a lot of this album, but there were some cool tracks like Stream of Consciousness. Helps that it's heavier than usual DT fare.
