albatross is pretty great but this has more variety and the production on this thing is just awesome

i like the general ideas of the songs in this and how much the band are progressing but the vocals kill it for me, or at least keep me from loving it at all

I think it's safe to say that his talent is undisputed...it is just a little overproduced from time to time. Which is sad because he doesn't need that at all with his powerful voice. When I saw them live by accident his vocals for Nearer My God seemed way more powerful than without the production.

Lambert is an amazing closer. I rarely get to it though which is tragic. Not often that I listen to the album in full.
