As much as I do like Hanson's reviews (whether or not I agree with them), this part just doesn't make sense to me. And I've read it forty times over and it still doesn't make sense. I get possibly giving something too much credit after the first listen.. but I'd think by the 40th time through, if I still had that same opinion, it might be a sound stance
