anyone else ever felt like enslaved's song giants sounds like it could be from this album?

maybe apart from the chorus

the mood really reminds me of grand conjuration or something

Wow. So for maybe 10 years now I've been listening to these guys off and on, cherry picking what's on YouTube, and mostly just looping through Blackwater Park. I haven't listened to Ghost Reveries since high school. I forgot how tight they are here. They sound so good here.

So this band's decline certainly started when they stopped using bongos. Bring the bongos back, please!

Am I the only one who thinks that Mikael's growls are getting pretty fucking good again? I mean, he's never going to sing like when he was at his prime for obvious reasons but... This is pretty good!

The quality of the mix of this show surprises me every time. That's how you do it. Yes, I'm looking at you Sorceress...

I agree. Not only do the growls sound good, but Mikael actually seems really engaged in the performance, and the band is tight as hell. It's a good sign and maybe it means the next album will be a return to form.

tbh I don't even care if the next album has growls. As long as the musicianship, songwriting and production are good I'm set. They've just been playing it safe too much on the last 2 albums...

i actually thought the last 2 (especially sorceress) were risky as they relied on more traditional song structures that they had only used sparingly in the past. plus they moved away from the somber, moody vibes of pretty much everything that came before and made records that were dare i say it kinda fun

A pale communion song came on my radio station today and it was infuriating. Had to jam this and damnation to calm down

Sorceress has some serious jams m/ It's somehow less than the sum of its parts tho
