Does anyone else think this album is too bland in places? I really think ABR went less heavy on this album, does no one else agree? Sure it has some heavy songs but some songs just aren't memorable. Cutting The Ties is unmemorable for half of it, Pangea has a good start but gets boring as it goes on. Poor Millionaire once again has a good start but becomes boring before picking up again at the end.



Empire, Boys of Fall and Leveler are the only real consistent tracks on this imo. This is so much worse than Constellations, Constellations was heavier, faster and generally just a more fun record I think.

40 Nights

40 Nights is good yeah I suppose.





Even the breakdowns, a lot of them are left to the end of the song (Empire, Cutting The Ties, Poor Millionaire) as if they finished the song and thought "shit, we need to add some chugs." I dunno, guess I just don't like the feel of this album. Each to their own.

Carpe Diem fucked me up when I was on shrooms. Especially the last 2 minutes, it sounded so epic I almost exploded.

You aren't wrong. This album has grown a little more than a 3 on me, but it's still no Messengers. I know it's supposed to be more emotional and epic, but watching all of Messengers live was literally the most epic shit ever. Leveler will never compare.
