i feel that but at the same time it feels really refreshing for radiohead to come out with something that's kind of relaxed and intimate which are not really words i would have previously associated them with.
i feel i keep repeating that and not contributing anything else to this thread

Listening to the 2 new singles... really good shit. Should've been on this album. The Butcher, in particular, i'm really digging.
Might have to try making up a new tracklisting that includes these 2 songs + These Are My Twisted Words.

OH, and Harry Patch. Need to include that in there somewhere. Maybe right before Separator? And i honestly would've put Supercollider in between Feral and Lotus Flower.

Nah, Feral and lotus flower share this delicious bass-line, wouldn't want to split that up.
and Harry Patch really doesn't fit at all for me. but hey, to each his own album :P

I wasn't exactly on board with this album when I got it, but after repeated listens, I finally realized just how damn good it is.

"Harry Patch" is prehaps the nicest song ever written but it isn't that good of a radiohead song.
|
| |
same here, Harry Patch is alright

I tried the slightly altered-version of your playlist i suggested yesterday.
The Butcher segues into Feral perfectly. Really is a shame that it actually wasnt on the album.

Those songs were cut from tkol for a reason, man

Feral is one of the best on the album

"Those songs were cut for a reason, man"
Random Radiohead Geek Explosion:
Definitley. Radiohead's funny that way, though. they're perfectionist to a fault, and obviously with TKOL they
attempted to make the perfect 40 minute album. Supercollider and the butcher probably weren't cut because they
weren't quality songs, they were cut because adding them would cause Radiohead to deviate from that 40 minute
album. Plus Thom Yorke's always been kind of funny with Tracklisting, for example, at the last minute, Radiohead
replaced the climatic Cuttooth ( if you haven't heard it look it up) with Hunting Bears, an underwhelming wallowing
Guitar Solo. And the band had to talk Thom Yorke out of replacing Idioteque with kinetic. I mean, can you imagine
Kid A without idioteque?
Not saying that Radiohead are not exceptional musicians, in my opinion they're the best act out there right now, but
it makes sense that they could have sabotaged themselves on King Of Limbs. Because honestly not only does the
Butcher fit perfectly in front of Feral, but Supercollider also segues effortlessly into Separator, and they both
arguably make King Of Limbs a much better album.
*Twisted Words never had a chance of making the album, and might not even be from the same recording period,
but it fits and I really like the song, so it made my alternative track-listing. Also G3neric, place Harry Patch before
Down Is The New Up on IR disk 2. Fits perfectly.

*Twisted Words never had a chance of making the album, and might not even be from the same recording period,
Most likely. I remember reading sometime early last year, i think, that they initially said they no longer wanted to release albums and just wanted to be a singles band. Obviously they changed their mind, but the 2 singles released during this time where they had this mindset were Twisted Words and Harry Patch.
I'll give that IR2 tracklisting a shot, btw.
