Also, I wish the vocals came even remotely close to being as good as Garm's.

To me it sounds kind of like a combination of Filosofem and Belus but with the belus elements having been improved on.

Not his best by far but definitely an enjoyable listen

I just like the fact we're having some actual discourse on music. Doesn't happen to often on this site lol.

This is true haha.

Just so happens to be a Burzum discussion in an Agalloch thread ;)

Kidding aside, I agree.

Lol well I mean there's no Fallen thread yet so might as well take it somewhere else. Also Crysis, go listen to the new Acid Witch!

Too busy with Fallen atm, but might check it out later.

How about the bass being actually good!

I'm just happy he improved with the riffs on this one. I felt that was something that dragged Belus down a little bit.

I really like Marrow of the Spirit and I'm one who is critical of people who hail Agallochs releases as classics (I view them as just very nice music).

To me it is their best flowing effort and most cohesive album. Though I prefer Pale Folklore and AatG minus bloodbirds. Still unsure what to make of The Mantle.

I think The Mantle is easily their most cohesive album, it just really took its time to "click" as they say.

But I prefer Pale Folklore over anything they've done since.

This just feels like a dumbed down version of the previous albums. Still really good, but can't touch any of the other 3.

Not crazy at all. I'm sure people would agree with me. It doesn't have the atmosphere of the others and the lack of cleans drags it down.

you're right, it has a different, yet similar atmosphere - an atmosphere I prefer

the fact you don't get absolutely swept away by black lake nidstang just down right puzzles me :[
