Pretty much every MA album up until gateways had a demo era track re-recorded, so it feels like an integral part of their early sound. i don’t think it’s out of place at all.

I think there is no Morbid Angel album until Gateways on which the guitars are less from another planet than on this one. By far the most 'normal' MA album guitarwise. Trey's weirdness doesn't show much here. That said, riffs, solos et al. are still top notch. But the lava isn't strong on this one...
