"This is quite a bit more sludgy and conventionally heavy than Panopticon or ItAoT"
True. I feel as if they condensed the ideas from Collapse And Crush, C.F.T and Celestial (The Tower) for Oceanic. Panopticon expanded the fuck out of those ideas, basically.

Love me some Red Sea. The track I mean. Minus Times too. The rest of the EP doesn't hold up.

Yeah its really just those tracks for me too, and they dont have nearly the replay value that their later albums do

Still the best thing ever made, probably the most natural sounding album I've ever heard in terms of song progressioms and flow

Most of their music sounds like that to me honestly. Such a perfect band.

Galilean satellites is epic, but this is monumental album. It's an essence of ocean captured in sound. One of the best album in post metal.

Fullofsound that's one of life's unanswerable questions. But if you held a gun to my head and asked me I would probably give it to oceanic. It's more natural and isnt built entirely around crescendos like panopticon is, altho so did we is my favorite song
