Private Hell, Lesson Learned, and Check My Brain alone make this a hard 4.

Album Rating: 2.5
Three songs, none of which would rate in the band's top 20 songs, equate to a 4/5 rating?
'Check My Brain' is the sort of decent tune Cantrell can sh*t out in his sleep, middle-hitter and nothing more in my eyes.

Wait, bloc are you a girl?
I like Tripod but it meanders aimlessly a bit. That whole album tends to lack focus. I like my AiC with riffs, hooks, melodies and harmonies, and this delivers in spades. Whether one thinks it's a cynical cash grab by Cantrell is purely conjecture, but this album has no weaknesses, even if it doesn't peak as high as Facelift, JoF and Dirt. Staley is my favourite vocalist of all time, but his absence doesn't detract from this at all.
