The 2nd Law might actually be better than this from a songwriting perspective but it has absolutely no coherent sound, feel or theme, at least this has its own space opera thing going on

that's what makes it better imo. it's more fun and easier to listen to. this is like the same vibe in every song it's a pain to listen all the way through

The 2nd Law... hmm.

I can tolerate Supremacy, the Woolstenhoome songs and Explorers or Animals (I forget which one it is).

@Insurrection disagree. Personally when albums are THAT indefensibly all over the show I can't help but see them as messes less

than the sum of their parts, totally the case with T2L. Songwise it isn't a 1.5 but as an album it definitely is, a big sprawling splat that

doesn't add to or signify anything

gurrl I luv ya + killuminati + we gon win the Olympics = what the fuck are you even trying to say

@GLM Its definitely Animals, that's the one with the wall street samples at the end. Knowing you, there's no way you'd like Explorers.

As far as good songs on T2L, I really like Supremacy, Liquid State and Animals, and believe it or not I think Follow Me is one of the best on there simply because of the great vocal performance.

animals has hints of classic muse in there. its just kinda formulaic for them. still a good jam

Hopefully Matt is actually being honest and the next album will return to their roots. No silly experimentation with dubstep or Queen and U2 ripoffs, just classic Muse riffs and distortion. If he brings the falsetto back more often that's an added bonus.

they haven't written a good song since 06 though so even if they go back to that sound it might not even matter
