One of their better ballads post 6deg. Sure as hell beats Build Me Up, Break Me Down

Love how haunting disappear is, but doesn't beat Wait For Sleep

Yeah wait for sleep might be best

Gotta love LaBrie's vocals in wait for sleep. It's got the right balance and the only thing that comes close is Space Dye Vest

This album blew me away when I first heard it. I thought it was the best since SFAM.

Disappear's a weird one definitely their best 00's ballad

Agreed. Vacant would be great, but its length really limits it.

Vacant's fine, it's kinda just there. At least it's subtle. Speaking of DT ballads This is the life is really underrated and probably their best since Repentance

I thought it was alright. Too many people were cynical over ADTOE before it was even released and it's actual pretty solid

Yeah it's probably tied with this for best post-6Deg for me, it does the enjoyable sounding heavy progressive rock thing a little better than FII and has a little less shit than it too

Sounds just about right, but it's not gonna be beat ToT or BC&SL for me

Weird how everything I've said is all from memory and I haven't listened to DT properly in well over a year. FII and ADTOE definitely need another chance. I have them both down as 3's right now

ADTOE is a 3.5 at least, it has four amazing songs and a great ballad. FII is probably 3.3 for me, 5 really great songs, a couple decent ones, and 5 shit ones

It's a shame really, the awful tracks on FII really do bring down its overall quality

Yeah even more so that those 5 songs are some of their most enjoyable and best they've done, they even rival most of the stuff on Awake. That's one thing it has over ADTOE, it's really genuine and natural/organic

All this talk just makes me kinda anxious for their album next year in hopes that it resembles something like FII. Wishful thinking, sadly.

I think ADTOE is the closest we'll get. Though the s/t sort of tried but was way too overbearing and sterile

Too 'epic' without the epic part. Still curious as to what they do next though

S/t was their most critically and commercially successful in years so probably a part 2 of that :/

Whoa, really? Didn't realise that so you're probably right and they'll just want to do what makes their current echelon of fans happy
