This album has a cold vibe for sure. I always listen to this on cold nights while taking a walk by the industrial park in the outskirts. Few things get such a big synchrony atmospherically wise

damn I find this more of a dangerous sweltering don't-walk-your-dog heat kinda album. I figure this album is what a pizza feels while its being baked

"it is music - sound that can be heard with your ears... sound can be neither hot nor cold"

It's a burning album. Hot and cold burn either way. Guess it's that

I think this album has both, it has cold, in the sense of an almost soulless stare with its bleak lyrics accompanied by a grooving industrial, machine like tempo, yet it has heat in its orange, hell like cover, its industrial machine like rhythms get the engines hot and the vocals have that rebellious fire at some points... Cult album
PS: Reading my own comment made me think I should 5 this, but if I do it I will have to 5 Pure and SoLaH too because I love them just as much.

I feel you on that... my rationalization on giving this one the 5 and leaving those as 4.5s despite the fact that I feel the same way you do and love them just as much (if not more tbh)... well it was simply the fact that this has the status it does and gets all the attention... it ain't right it ain't fair but that's how it be

speaking of... Justin has been sharing some lyrics on Facebook as of late for old Godflesh stuff where they have been pretty much unknown due to how hard they were to make out or distinguish and I have been gobbling that up
namely, from what I've managed to catch, he did it for the tracks off of Cold World (lol) and also for "Monotremata" off Pure... the latter not so big of a deal as you can make out at least most of the words on that track, but definitely not the case for those Cold World tracks... was only ever able to gleam like a line or two until seeing his posts

wonder if he will do this for Post Self considering the vocals/lyrics on that record seem almost deliberately obscured... almost feel like sharing them would ruin the mystery and mystique

I am digging Tiny Tears more and more. The BBC Peel session version is especially ferocious. Raw as all fuck.

sick!
and you should start with s/t EP, def. Probably their rawest, very punk-ish energy and my personal favorite!
