Its just incredibly consistent, as is this.
Come to think of it, so is the band haha.

not much "post-" in it to qualify it compared to what follows it so I don't think so
but it doesn't matter, WILLIE'S A DIEHARD SOULS FAN AND THAT RULES IN ITSELF

Yeah, always nice to see some pre-TSIB love.

Souls was my first Neurosis release back when it came out. Then I went to Word As Law. That's probably why those are my two favorite.
|
| |
I vote Souls for most unsettling Neurosis album
|
| |
If we're talking most unsettling, I'd say this wins hands down
|
| |
This is close, but the samples in Souls get me every time

Every album up to TSIB is pretty unsettling tbh.
TEOTS definitely wins the best melancholic album reward, still never heard a record quite as breathtaking as that one.

Damn Lexicon is disturbing. I'm not really enjoying this one.
EDIT: I'm done haha. This is like a nightmarish journey into the heart of some cannibalistic tribe. Not for me.
|

Definitely for me.

I love cold becoming/lexicon the most lol. if you see their early live videos with the tribal drumming, they play that same vibe luc lol

I believe it lol! I'd put this in the same boat as early Swans. The merit is there, definitely, but I can't stomach it.

This is probably second-worst post neurosis, I can definitely see where lucman is coming from
|
| |
This is the one I come back to the most. TSIB almost sounds too refined to jam on the regular.
