Yeah I agree with spirit. Slipknot has more personalities in their music to offer

Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. is quite great. I love the diversity compared to the band's later works, although the lack of Corey Taylor makes it lack a bit of personality.

I think I tried it once but got a bit too bored before I finished it. Gonna have to wait to get into a slipknot mood to try again, which are rare these days

I've heard good things about it too, such as a the wider range of genre influences but the production also kind of put me off

Back when I liked them I got a copy of the demo from a friend. I sold it a few years ago for $500 :P

I agree it's great but I actually think it has too much personality. As a whole album, it's not very cohesive because of just how ambitious they were musically. I think Ander's fits that raw, unrefined sound more than Corey honestly.

From those guitars, I'm starting to get the impression there'll be some sludge influence involved in at least one of the tracks.
Also, CHOOT CHOOT, etc.

Sweet. Still stoked for it. It's been a long time too, so hopefully it'll be good

Well it could. A lot of things have changed in the band and the songwriting chemistry could easily be gone, which would result in a horribly disjointed record

I hope it fuels some newfound maturity and growth in the songwriting, like the next step from vol. 3 and maybe bypass this turd

Or maybe it'll just be a heavier Stone Sour album, which is the last thing I want

House of bones or whatever it's called were solid 3.5s but hardly masterpieces or anything. I'd prefer a new direction, but it'll probably be mainstream sounding like this no matter what it sounds like :/

I'm ok with that. Vol .3 is their most accessible release after all but that boasts so many good ideas that it's their best without a doubt
