^^ Get on that shit bro. It's classic as fuck. His songwriting matured like tenfold between Figure 8 and From a Basement and it has some unsettlingly beautiful songs on it.

i'd probably check out Figure 8 then the first 2, Avon. but they're all so good it doesn't matter what order you go in.

All that matters is that you just listen to all of them. For me, Figure 8 is kind of hit and miss (Not that is isn't great). His discography is kind of like the first three go together stylistically and Either/Or is the bridge that links up XO, Figure 8 and From a Basement. There are a lot more up beat positive sounding (not meaning) songs on the latter half of his discography.
