Do they have to be? Chuck in Disintegration I'd say that's a list

Ocean of Noise started the discussion and he had American as a prerequisite

Yea I said this is probably the best American rock album of the 90s

While I admit that this is in close competition with some of the ones you mentioned, Source, I still stand by that statement. This just covers all the bases perfectly.

Oh yeah. I got a bit carried away. The majority are yank though and absolute belters.

The double album thing this album chose to go with does damage it at points, but still think this is a fab record.

Actually, I like the last five songs a lot. By Starlight is still my fave on here, and the closer is quite sweet (especially because of those amazing harmonies between Billy, D'arcy, James, and Jimmy)

Leave. By Starlight and Lily (My One and Only) are both brilliant.

Only lame track after X.Y.U. is We Only Come Out at Night and even that's pretty okay.

Actually nah I'll stay thanks

Beautiful and Lily are straight trash. Farewell and Only Come Out are skippable. By Starlight is definitely a tune tho

I'll second what Rowan said, though Farewell And Goodnight is a pleasant closer in my opinion.

We Only Come Out At Night isn't great, but the rest after XYU are fine.

I think We Only Come Out at Night is a good song. I don't mind it one bit.

Which do you guys prefer?

Take Me Down or Farewell and Goodnight?

Vocal melody on Lilly is so fuckin irritating I don't think I've ever made it to the end

Farewell is alright it just comes and goes without very little impact. D'arcy and Iha's call and response is sweet. Take me Down >
