It's not just the shredding skills on their own that matter, they only really matter when coupled with good songwriting skills. Or hell, even riff writing skills. This album has tons of amazing moments, which is what makes it so good

You know I used to think that too. But after getting into Death and the sound of perseverance I really changed my mind about this. Now i would consider the vox to be a big plus
