‘They do deserve the hype, goated modern metal band’
What time period would constitute ‘modern’ in this context? Black Future was a fair old while ago now, so must be around 15 years? (minimum).

All thrash after 1986 is modern thrash
|
| |
all music after hildegard von bingen is modern music
|
| |
I'd say after sometime in the 90s. Saying all thrash after the release of the big 4 is modern thrash aint right

To be real though, this is revival tech thrash. It's post 2000 so I'd call it modern but it's also trying to basically copy bands like coroner

I've had the curious thought of how they might have even drawn inspiration from Propagandhi style punk/prog strands.

Some moments are really original though. That chant in the middle of Charging the Void in particular

yeah I still don’t get saying this band ‘copied’ anyone, there seems to be a tendency in some quarters to discredit every modern thrash band as automatically derivative, because of the overall rep the genre has nowadays
I hear elements of older thrash, it’d be crazy if you didn’t. I don’t think they’re a clone though, far from it

This band is honestly a lot better than many "classic" thrash bands
