I'm tired of people seeing the term "metalhead" as some kind of prestigious title reserved for those who consider themselves most knowledgeable on all things metal and who proclaim their "metal tastes" superior to those who listen to the mainstream (that is, within the metal community).
I don't know how you've come to perceive the term, but the only meaning I have ever inferred from it would be "one who listens to metal".

The singing is terrible
The songwriting is terrible
The songs are terrible
The guitar and drums are basically the only redeeming quality of the band, but they're not very good either. BTW I liked Ascendancy so if you're gonna bring that up....yeah...This Message Edited On 11.05.07

It's like when this album came out, kids went around saying:
"Hey man, you wanna go hate on the new Trivium album?"
"You mean that one that sounded like Metallica?"
"Yea! Let's go trash it endlessly because that's the cool thing to do even though the artists put a lot of hard work and dedication into making what they wanted to make."

First, we aren't trashing it because it's the cool thing to do, we are trashing it because we don't like it. Second, what does it matter what kind of dedication and hard work an artist put into making their music to someone who thought it sucked? On a separate note, many people started hating Trivium well before this record was out.

I'm quite aware, I was just commenting. Just because the end result sucked doesn't mean they didn't put a lot effort into it. You can make whatever else points you want to, but what it boils down to is: They made an album; you're posting on the internet.

They made an album; you're posting on the internet. All I'm going to say in response to that is there are threads here where people post the music they create. I write and record music with a project myself, but here who really cares being as this is a review site. This is where people come to post their opinions on music, not say oh well they made a record better than you ever will. As for Trivium and their effort, reread what I said because you interpreted that wrong. At the end of the day, I view Trivium as a band with so much talent which is not being used to full potential due to factors including but not limited to; terrible songwriting, boring transitions, and blatantly copying influences. Good day.
