Vocals are supposed to come across as rather apathetic. They're as cold and distant as can be without lacking all traces of humanity and emotion. Plus they suit the instrumentation so well man cmon.

No it works well I agree. I love the first four songs off of this but after that it gets so dreary I can't ever finish the album. It's why I prefer substance, it's got a wider variety and it's got all my favorite songs from this
