Strongly disagree xD. Teamster I'd always prefer headphones but that's just personal preference. I think it's safe to say, with this still sitting at a 4.3 avg, that it will top many peoples aoty list. So have fun man!
We need an album that would ensure Tool not winning users' choice award this year. Fuck 'em.

That didn’t look like happening anyway tbf, State Faults were top of the pile and that album is actually really good (even though I prefer Cara Nier for screamo/scramz personally).

Cara Neir is frigging amazing and better than State Faults, yes. Currently sitting at my number 3 this year.

The Fall is a crushing closer, with some really excellent ambient leads and clean sections. It keeps up their tradition of finishing albums strongly. Inland Rain is probably the track that grew on me most after repeated spins, to the point where it’s now one of my favourites.

Cool avi Spirit. Kinda how I imagine the Children of the Light from the Wheel of Time to look like.

I have to rise my rating to 3.5, we feel the end and inland rain are great. Still not connecting with lay your head, a dawn to fear and the fall. I'd have loved to Lighs on the hill being the closing track, what an amazing song.

"Cool avi Spirit. Kinda how I imagine the Children of the Light from the Wheel of Time to look like. "
hmm interesting. I've never read that book, but the guy on the avi is Solaire from Dark Souls, one of the Warriors of Sunlight, which sounds really similar to Children of the Light. maybe that's where they took inspiration from.

Now's the time to start reading if you enjoy fantasy books at all. TV series is in production as we speak (finally, been waiting 15 years for that). It starts of a little LOTR'esque, but it's a great series.
*funny that it's actually from darksouls. Just got Sekiro yesterday and intend to start that tonight.

I get the hype for this. Post-metal tends to really drag for me but this is engaging and just plain awesome beginning to end.

Kinda see this, but those guys are closer to the executioners in Bloodborne in my imagination. Gave up on that series on book 9 but hyped to see how the TV pans out

'I get the hype for this. Post-metal tends to really drag for me but this is engaging and just plain awesome beginning to end.'
Quite frankly I'm flabbergasted the average remains so high, I didn't think it was feasible for a post-metal album in '19 to be touching 4.3 considering everything gets 'anti-hyped' to shreds these days. Madness.
