Well they are a sad boy indie/post-punk kind of deal so Interpol is an acceptable comparison. Whatever you do don't start here though, unless it's to hear Quiet Light on repeat, or something.

Yeah I guess these days they're sad grown ass men bordering on middle-aged indie/post punk.

I don't think the two bands are comparable except they are both bands with band members in them

The two bands are definitely comparable as they're essentially the same amalgamation of genres and there's a somewhat similar overarching tone present in (some of) their music. I would never suggest they are the same thing, far from it, but it's a massive stretch to say their share absolutely no similarities besides being a band. Odd comment indeed.

Even after I'd only heard this a couple times, hearing it a third was like hearing it for the 50th time. Nothing on here surprises me, the songs all get so boring so quickly. Even the highlights are kind of mediocre in light of their older material.

I like how the sentiment is generally positive here, even though the avg indicates it's their worst album in over 15 years

This is their worst if the debut didn't exist, which also sounds like a different band in some ways

I don't think I ever listened to their debut. Kind of wild considering how much I like this band.

This and SWB don't deserve anything above a 2. Alligator and Boxer are their best, by far, and they've come a long-long way from that. Shame...
